I'm not much for vampire fiction, but this has been a fairly good comic series. Basically, it starts out during the old West, with outlaw Skinner Sweet being fed upon by European vampires. However, they don't finish the job and he comes back as something... different. American vampires, being sired in a new land have new powers (and new weaknesses) and are a threat to the established bloodsucking order. Flash forward a few decades, and we meet Pearl Jones, a struggling actress in 1920s Hollywood getting by in bit parts in movies. She too meets up with the European vamps, and becomes an American vampire adversary to them. If you like stories with a lot of history to them, this is a good series. It plays well with contrasting the European vampires, who represent decadent nobility, and the American ones, who represent the freedom of the new land (in all its good and bad qualities). Skinner is basically anarchy incarnate, gleefully massacre folks either to feed or just to satisfy his bloodlust. Pearl remains for the most part a decent person, despite being a blood-sucking monster, preferring to turn her violent attentions on other vampires, particularly those of the old order. This has a pretty unique storyline and the artwork has a weird but appealing sense to it. I'd recommend it.

Did you blank your old posts on purpose, or did our system glitch?

Did you blank your old posts on purpose, or did our system glitch? Spring cleaning... I forget my exact reason for doing it... Anyway, since I've got all of The Punisher MAX stories, I've started scrounging around for others, and it looks like I've got ahold of everything except for The Hood, Zombie, The Zombie: Simon Garth, and The Eternal (which was by *shudder* Chuck Austen). Checklist: marvel.wikia.com/MAX
