Well that sucks. The thread was awesome.
So I guess you could stick a fork in those dragons because they are done. And the girls look to be medium rare. I think this is the most beat up the girls have looked. Speaks of how tough they are, but how are they going to explain how messed up they are.
If Nick or Will are home, Sheila and Reece won't be able to come up with any half-baked schemes. They'll have to cook up some pretty well thought out excuses for why they look like they were grilled. They'll certainly be a bit tender for the next few days and will probably have to baste on some ointment.

Luckily, it looks like they dodged the bullet. Maybe they hopped in a river before heading home... As for today's strip, ah, the tender moment. Bunny snuggles for all!

Uh-oh, I see an Ally brawl coming! Interestingly enough, both Allys see themselves as the "real" one and the other as the copy. Split personalities can be confusing. So we see the duality of Ally made manifest: one that sees Peter's needs as the most important, the other who sees monster slamming as a bigger priority.

In the movie 'Multiplicity', the main character's first copy couldn't believe he was the copy. He *felt* like the real one. I'm sure that this magic does the same effect as that science.
Still, it's dangerous to be of two minds about a subject. I can just see it now. "Stop HITTING yourself, stop HITTING yourself!" ^_^

And here I was thinking this arc was going a little too easy.

This last page was kinda disconcerting once you realize that that the magic Ally used is not the same that allows Tazel her duplicates. A perfect carbon copy of Ally was produced who is just as real as the original with her own intelligence and sentience.
One of the Allys is going to die. And the other is going to commit murder.

Considering that with my ability, all the clones know they're really only clones. They are an extension of the original. Tazel doesn't split her soul. Just her mind and body. Only one has her soul, and thus, the ability to replicate.
Thus, the danger of the spell Ally has used... it's effectively duplicated her soul. Both *think* they're Ally. Both *think* they're fighting for their lives, their love, their very EXISTENCE.
But remember, it must turn dark before one can appreciate the brightening of the new day.

Yeah, and we really can't tell which Ally is the original either. We can make soem assumptions that it was the one that went with Peter, but we can't know for sure. We can make the argument that the real Ally would also go save her best friends. Despite the dark turn, this arc definitely shows why doing such spells is dangerous and unethical for the magically inclined.

That's the point - there are TWO original Allys here, because the spell made two souls. It's impossible to tell who created whom.
But if you're looking for who is more important to Ally, realize this: They're BOTH fighting over 'ownership' of Peter.
Magic, too, isn't all sunshine and lollipops. If you're not well attuned to the imbalance you can put on yourself... this is likely a very minor reminder of its power. There are worse magical self-inflicted states, I'm sure.

I don't really see the problem here. Okay, magick split Ally into two Allys -- fine. When an amoeba divides, which of the resulting pair of amoebae is the original one? Answer: Both of them. The analogy to Ally's situation should be pretty clear, I think. As to the eventual fusion, why would either Ally think "omigod, I'm gonna die!" ? After all, each one thinks she is the 'real' Ally, and the other one is some sort of fake. So why wouldn't each Ally's reaction be more in the vicinity of "okay, that fake 'me' is going to go away, and I'll get whatever memories 'she' happened to acquire during 'her' short, unnatural existence. Cool."

Oh I realize why each Ally is thinking that. But we know that both Ally's are just as real as the original one Ally. They don't realize it. And one of them, being a separate soul and just as real a person, is going to cease to exist, therefore dying. Unless the arc somehow resolves that.
It's the reason making clones for spare parts in Sci-fi is treated just as unethical, because the clones are real people too.

I tend to think of it as Ally being split between two beings. Neither one is the "true" Ally, just half of the whole thing. I'll avoid the good Kirk/evil Kirk analogy outright, but it is sort of similar.

Ally's having to make compromises again! Prepare for more wackiness!

Ahh, but this time, it's not intentional.
Not that it will matter, if that glow is any indication.
