Oh man, what an incredibly cheesy movie. Last movie I watched? The Wild Bunch. Hadn't seen it in a while. 40 years later, it's still a masterpiece.

Just came back from Boondock Saints II. All I can say is... awesome! Loved the original so much when I first saw it (at a friend's B-day party in 2000) and I was pleased by how well Troy Duffy pulled it off. All the weaknesses in the original movie crop up again in the sequel, particularly with the sketchy way the story moves forward. But the humor is thankfully still there. A lot of the dark humor remains, and the gun-fighting remains John Woo-inspired. Can't wait for the third movie, which at this pace should arrive by 2019.

Watched the movie Che recently. Just as I thought, they glossed over the atrocities he committed in order to play up his heroic status. Meh.

And what a sick, yet entertaining death it was! Watched "Watchmen" against last night. What an enjoyably nihilistic experience that was, I felt I needed a bath after watching it. One thing, I actually think the film's ending is an improvement over the comic's ending. At the very least, it seemed like a far more plausible way to get the end that character wanted.

Just saw the new Star Trek movie yesterday. Not bad, not bad at all. The filmmakers deserve credit for humanizing the characters. Plus, they excuse the rebooting of the franchise in a decent way. Now if they can just have a villain who isn't a remix of Khan, maybe this series can kick into high gear next time.
